Chief Juliot is a 17 year New Albany Fire Department veteran, and has served as Chief of the department for the past four years with great success in many areas, one of those being grant writing. He has secured over 3.2 million dollars in grants during his last four years as Chief.

Chief Juliot is progressive in his vision to move the NAFD into the digital age, installing a new computer system, moving to paperless billing and reporting which saves 8% in billing processes and increases the accountability of department funds. The City of New Albany is also very proud of Chief Juliot’s service to our nation. He bravely fought in the Gulf war, serving with the U.S. Army 3rd Infantry Division 1/15 Infantry Regiment.

To apply for a position as a Firefighter, a successful completion of the Agility Test is required.  Applicants selected shall be placed on an Applicant Eligibility List for consideration as openings occur. This list shall remain in effect for one year.

Application forms can be obtained at Fire Headquarters, 316 E. Spring Street, New Albany, IN 47150 MONDAY through FRIDAY, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Basic eligibility requirements are as follows:

  1. Must be a United States Citizen
  2. Must be twenty-one (21) years of age, but under thirty-six (36) years of age in order to complete an Application and to take the Agility Test
  3. Must possess a valid, unexpired driver’s license
  4. High School graduate or its equivalent.
