Disc golf combines the challenges & traditions of one of the world’s greatest games. The object of the game is to achieve par or below by throwing a flying disc known as a “golf disc” over a course. Instead of hitting a ball with a club into a hole in the ground, a flying disc is thrown in a basket known as a “pole hole” or DISC catcher.” The hole is complete when the disc strikes the “target zone.” Disc golf is an activity the entire family can enjoy. It is inexpensive and a great way to enjoy the outdoors. New Albany Parks & Recreation Department has practice disc golf baskets set up at the Griffin Street Park for public use during normal park hours of operation.
