Mayor Jeff Gahan is pleased to announce that, at recent New Albany Board of Public Works and
Safety meeting, the board approved a partnership with Everbridge for the implementation of a
mass notification system for residents of New Albany.
The software will allow citizens of New Albany to opt-in for notifications from the City of New
Albany. These notifications can be delivered to their mobile device, e-mail, or phone number.
Critical situations require information to be transferred quickly and effectively to the appropriate
parties. Everbridge allows users to take advantage of its mass notification tool to not only inform
the right people, but to ensure they get the message through a multimodal approach. Road closures,
boil water advisories, emergency weather updates, and other notifications can be sent directly to
citizens, allowing for clear and timely communication to be facilitated between the city and
residents.
The product is currently used by government agencies like the Indiana State Police, as well as
large corporations who need to reach and inform clients on matters that are time sensitive.
