Fairview and West Haven cemeteries are owned and operated by the City of New Albany. Fairview boasts an estimate of 90 acres of burial ground, while West Haven has an estimate of 7 acres of burial ground. The workers there are responsible for the maintenance of the grounds. Including the mowing of the grass, weed-eating around the tombstones, trimming of trees, shrubs, and also doing all things related to funerals. Our office is located inside Fairview cemetery.
We have a spring clean up that is each yearon March 15th. If March 15th falls on a saturday we will have the clean up on the 14th of March, if the 15th falls on a Sunday we will have the clean up on the following Monday on the 16th. We are currently working with several groups on annual programs such as walking tours through the cemetery. We are visited yearly by students from several schools in our area.
