The Rental Unit Registration and Inspection Program facilitates the prevention and correction of violations of laws and ordinances pertaining to rental residential property to protect the public health, safety, and welfare of the people of the City of New Albany.

The Rental Unit Registration and Inspection Program focuses on four main goals:

  • Increased Safety for tenants and surrounding properties
  • Improved Cleanliness
  • Historic Preservation
  • Increased property values

To register a property, please download and complete the form (linked HERE, needs to be updated). After completing the form, you can mail the form in or turn it in at the City-County Building. A registration fee of $5.00 will be applied per rental address/parcel.
